hey .. new guy here. Got the max not too long ago as a replacement for my first car (97 corolla 5MT) haha.



Miss the rolla (first car bond! hah) but yea lovin the max! .. So far what it has is an AEM short ram intake.. and a full exhaust system from the Headers - back.

Oh and P.s. This dude with a rx8 wants to race me this saturday at the strip! .. you think the max can take it? His is just an 04 stocker 6MT (you can atually see it in one of the pics with his hood open). Mines standard too by the way. Let me know what ya think!

You're the same guy I saw on the org correct? Full Cattman from the headers back? Are you selling your car as well? I thought I saw it on Kijiji a few days ago.

Hard to tell if you'll be able to take the RX-8, they're not that fast since rotary motors don't make power until later in the rev band but last I checked they do 0-60 in 6 secs. It would be very close that's for sure! I'm guessing you run at St. Thomas since you're in London?

RX8 should run a high/mid 14. Your Max will probably run a high/mid 15. You have headers? What kind? and are you tuned? Tops you'll run with just headers is a low 15 high 14

yea dude! same guy haha. Just havent had time to get on here but here i am!. and yea i put it up for sale. Discovering a thing called a VQ motor in the world of cars is making me want a g35 BADLY!!! haha. I know i change cars too often since im only almost 19 and have had 2 cars going on the third, but hey why not!
Got a really good deal on the max so i had to buy it.. plus i always liked the way these looked.

and yea... I'll be at SPARTA in st.T. you should come down some time. Feels like im the only kid with a 5th gen max in south-westen ontario!

I bought my 5.5gen just before I turned 19(I'm just shy of 21 now), and like you I wanted something fast. On the same lot as the Maxima I saw a 6MT 350z and it was priced just $3k more than the Max, it came down to insurance and cost of ownership which woulda been too much for me. Buying and getting into a car is easy, it's actually AFFORDING it that's the hard part. My Maxima fits the bill just fine in terms of running costs, and with my mods I'm just as fast if not faster than a stock G/Z anyways. You've spent a great deal on your car already, why not work with it and bring out its true potential?

You'll have to give me more info on this Sparta event. I do wanna make a few 1/4 mile passes just for fun this year.

just as fast in a straight line that is... RWD owns FWD sorry man but you just can't compare a maxima to either of those cars

yea we'll see what happens .. i might end up keeping it cuz i love it actually. just wanted to go the coupe-ish route.. but hey its not like these 4dsc's arent sexy enough. And yea ill let u know more abt sparta after this saturday cuz itll be my first time there. Im going with the "LondonTuners" group (bunch of hicks with sunfires and grandam;s and LIME GREEN NEONS) haha but yea me and my buddy (yellow celica in the pics) are gonna tag along to see whats what.

are there any circuits anywhere near us? wouldnt mind doing a track day!

i know eh! my 4x4 status is a disgrace. hopefully a drop + rear spacers coming up soon if i decide to keep it.

What part of london are u usually in?
ive seen a couple of 4th genners driving like they stole it.. but not sure if i seen you around.

Welcome! Maxima's are great cars! Drop it like its hottt!

The closest closed track for lapping would probably be in Cayuga(toronto motorsports) I know they do time attack events, and I'm pretty sure you can do the circuit. You would have to check the website and see what is happening every weekend.
